An outdoor maternity photoshoot in nature
Johanna and Nathan hadn't experienced a photoshoot before yet, you wouldn't have known this. Nerves were present at the start of the session but as we all warmed into each other, all uneasiness fell away and the excited parents focused on the pure awe they have in Johanna's blossoming belly.
It was a beautifully mild winter's evening, and the sunset created a beautiful glow across fields of gold. Johanna changed outfit twice throughout our session and embraced my gentle guidance to move her body both in photos captured on her own and with her husband.
I watched Johanna embrace the moment by being present with her bump and husband, and letting her insecurities disappear. The photos are a beautiful representation of her willingness to be vulnerable and a session it was my honour to capture.

Melina is fabulous! I will treasure the photos that she took for us forever. I was feeling gross and wasn't sure if I wanted any photography of my miserable pregnancy and difficult newborn period, but Melina made the process so easy and comfortable. She is so talented and her work is so timeless and gorgeous, but aside from that, she is a great person who helped me past my self-consciousness in being photographed.
